Yesterday – Saturday 27th December, 2014 – I achieved (and exceeded!) my new weight loss goal.
A total weight loss of 4 stone, 1.5 lbs (57.5 lbs)
And in Christmas week, too!
You may recall back at Halloween, I achieved my 3.5 stone (50 lbs) weight loss goal, and I was happy. Very happy.
But when I got there, I didn’t feel ‘right’. I mean, it felt good – but I wanted to go further.
Having got this far, I knew I could achieve more.
Plus, I felt twitchy at the 3.5 stone and wanted to round this up to 4
I didn’t make my new goal public, as I already started having people telling me not to lose any more weight. And you know what, if there is one thing that will make this stubborn girl do something… it’s telling her not, too. This is my body, and for the first time in forever, I am starting to like and love what I see. I won’t allow anyone tell me how I can or cannot feel, even if done with the best intentions. So thank you to those people for spurring me on
I started my Slimming World journey on Friday 3rd January, 2014 and was determined to reach my goal this same year. And I did!
One Girl: One Dream, One Goal
WEIGHT LOSS UPDATE
Starting weight: 13st 8lbs
Current weight: 9st 6.5 lbs
Total weight loss: 4 stone and 1.5 lbs (57.5 lbs)
Height: 5′ 7″
Starting clothes size: 18 (USA 14)
Current clothes size: 8 (USA 4) << US sizing is SO much nicer!
Right now, I feel EXCITED!
When I started this journey, I *thought* I wanted to rediscover the ‘old’ me.
I’ve gone beyond that.
I truly feel like a ‘new’ me. A happier me.
And whoever says weight loss doesn’t bring happiness, sure never felt the way that I’m feeling right now.
Are you thinking about starting your own weight loss journey? Imagine yourself 6 months from now!
Don’t stop, it will be worth it!
Never give up on a dream because it takes time to accomplish. Time passes quickly. Get busy. Get started. Dream BIG!
xoxo Natalie

You are inspirational! My weight has always fluctuated and after having LP I was 14st 10. I’d only been 11st 7 when I found out I was pregnant so as you can see I piled on the pounds in pregnancy. I then lost most of the weight over a few months and got down to my WW goal weight of 10st 10 but still felt like I wanted to lose more. Since then though the nights have got darker earlier, the weather is cold and wet and I have got comfortable again, creeping back up to 11st 5. I started running again on Christmas Eve and have been three times since. I am determined to get down to 10 stone which I think will be a good weight for me and will be documenting my progress to give me a bit of motivation – I have already started to Instagram after each run to try and give others some motivation too. Congrats on your amazing weight loss – you look incredible! x

Hey Donna, thank you so much for your kind words!
Congratulations on starting up running… I admire anyone that can exercise, I’m such a couch potato, lol.
Cheering you on for success as you run towards your goals!!!

Great job! A goal without a deadline is just a wish and you’ve just proved it

So happy for you! You’ve done amazingly well, well done! I saw this post just at the right time, I have about 8 stone to lose and always get a stone or two off, get bored and put it all back on again and more. Just seeing what you’ve acomplished this year makes me want it for myself too. Thank you x
Natalie says
Thank you so much!
I lost just over 4 stone in one year. Whilst some weeks were higher than others, that averages to just over 1 lb per week. You can SO easily do this in one year (or less!), too!

Wow! Good effort you look amazing! I started Slimming World in August 2013. I kept attending meetings while I was pregnant, I pretty much didn’t stick to plan but it was good to keep any gain on track rather than just going mad. I had my baby in July and so far back on track towards target. I achieved my two stone award at the end of November. Now working on the last stubborn ten pounds to my target. That’ll take me to 10 stone but I’m tempted to go the extra 3lbs ish so that I get my three stone award and target. First of all time to get my 2.5 stone award. I CAN DO THIS!
I attend Slimming a world with my mum and our friend, they have both achieved target and keep cheering me on which is lovely.
Natalie says
Hi Hannah, thank you for stopping by!
Those final few pounds are the hardest, aren’t they? Kudos to you for keeping on track throughout your pregnancy. You will be at Target in no time!

You are so inspiring. We use kgs here in Aus so I have to try to convert the amounts. Pounds or kilos it is a significant amount. Congrats
Natalie says
Thank you, Michelle!
In the UK we use Stones and pounds (1 stone = 14 lbs). Since, we seem alone with this weight measure, I include a pounds-only figure for my US readers also. Adding in kgs would be way too confusing for my brain Apologies to any Aussies this confuses too! But, by my calculation, I think it equates to that I’ve lost 26.5kgs. Does that sound right?
I believe the UK and AUS dress sizes are the same though. So, size 18 to 8 if that makes it easier to understand, lol.

Oh Natalie! Congratulations!! What an amazing thing to do! I have the same goal this year! I am determined to make it happen. Seeing someone achieve their goal is an inspiration!

Really well done Natalie, you should be very proud of yourself, and good on you for finding the right weight for yourself.
I am the same height as you and the same starting weight, I just wondered did you do any exercise to help weight loss, and also did your skin shrink back ok? I am worried about excess loose skin after such significant weight loss.
Looking forward to your reply!
Natalie says
Hi Becky, thank you for your kind words!
Honestly, I did ZERO exercise to lose weight. Well, I did start the 30 Day Shred back in March (2 months after I started my weight loss programme) but I quickly gave it up. I didn’t do enough to have any impact on my weight loss
My skin all shrunk back fine, the only thing I’m not entirely happy with is my bum. It’s a little on the saggy side, but hey, I was overweight and have done no exercise. I only have myself to blame! If I can dig deep and find some motivation, I *may* exercise that into shape this Spring. It’s not bad, it’s just not pert, lol.

Hi Natalie you are an insparation – would it be possible to share some of your daily diet habits – i joined SW two weeks ago and have only lost three pounds – I have one stone to lose so unsure if that’s why it’s slow
Kind regards,
Natalie says
Hello Susan,
Thank you for your kind comments! When you say ‘daily diet habits’ – is there anything in particular you are after? I do share lots of my meals and recipes here on the blog, so feel free to check those out. Otherwise, hop over to my Facebook page (http://facebook.com/onebusywahm) as I share a lot of stuff there too!

Congrats on your transformation! You look wonderful. I would like to ask you about Slimming world and I am still conflicting whether I should sign up SW or not. I was wondering what kind of SW methods did you use to lose weight? I also heard SW doesn’t do the green/red days anymore, is it true?
Many thanks
