Brrrr! The weather has taken a chilly turn these past few weeks which means I’m busting out ALL the layers: gloves, hats, scarves, and boots to stay warm.
Because this mama DOES. NOT. DO. COLD.
Seriously, if there is one thing that makes me cranky – that’s being chilly!
But as much as I hate the cold, I do LOVE the chance it gives me to wear gorgeous winter boots. They perk up any outfit and look so stylish!
Discovering Hotter Shoes
When the UK’s biggest shoe maker reached out to me with an invitation to check out their new Autumn / Winter 2014 collection, I fell in love!
You see, at Hotter Shoes not only did they start out making slippers… they now make shoes as comfortable as slippers!
Over the years, I’ve resigned myself to the fact that you can either have comfort or style, but never both when shopping for footwear.
Seems I was wrong.
Maybe it’s a sign of getting older, maybe I’m getting smarter… but comfort AND style… uh, hello!

After trying on several styles, I picked the Lomand.
Feminine styling, a touch of glamour and comfort to boot (pardon the pun!)
So it seems I was just shopping in all the wrong places – you can have gorgeous shoes AND comfort all in one. And joking aside, when you’re a busy mum like me, you need to be comfortable.
I’m already I’m thinking ahead to my winter wardrobe… boots and leggings (as above!), boots and skinny jeans… ooh, boots with short skirt and warm winter tights. Boots with everything!
I chose the Lomand boots in winter taupe, but if darker colours are more your thing, they’ve got dark brown and black, too. I very nearly picked the leather Hampshire boots, but in the end, the fur trim got me!
So, if you see me on the school run with a little spring in my step, you’ll know why.

Ohh, I would love the boots you chose in a dark brown. Most boots are so uncomfortable, I’m afraid they would just sit in my closet and never get worn. These look really nice and like I could walk in comfort!

These boots are amazing! I’ve never been in love with boots wit’da fuuuur, but these are super great. I love the heel on them and the color – they’re stunning. I just need for them to fit over my enormous dancer’s calves now.
Summer, because of their #ComfortConcept, I bet you’d find the boot calves to be a very generous fit. You should definitely try some!

I am loving those boots! I have bought my boots this winter. Actually, I’ve bought too many. I just can’t help it! I have a problem. But I LOVE the ones that are warm. It doesn’t get too cold here, but just enough that boots are warranted.
I’d wear boots year-round if it did’t look so silly
In the meantime, I’m going to get full use out of them this winter. I’m so cold!

Ugh – it’s so easy to give in to the chilly weather and just hide beneath bulky sweaters and UGGs. But, you make a great point – why not keep it pretty and warm instead. I love those boots.

I’m almost embarrassed to admit how many pair of boots I own and how many I bought prior to the start of winter/snow season around here. Despite having lived in the UK for years, I’ve never heard of this brand, but you can bet I’m off to check them out!
