I really struggle buying gifts for the men in my life. They are not the easiest of men to buy for.
I always try and make up for it with lots of little stocking fillers and gifts – but the thoughtful kind – that lets them know I was thinking of them.
Then I remembered THIS!
Beer Advent Calendar
I can’t recall when or where I first saw this idea, but I filed it in the back of my brain under “must do for Hubby one year”… and then I remembered it!
And it’s so simple to do!
All you need is:
- 1 case of 24 bottles of beer
- Christmas decorations of your choice
- Glue
- Ruler
- Sharpie marker
Simply divide up your box top into 24 even squares, number them in a random order and decorate.
I decided against cutting ‘windows’ for each day, since this would affect the overall strength of the box. Plus it kinda adds to the fun of digging-in each day

Oh I bet your husband loves this! All my husband got was a Cadbury’s Advent Calendar and my mum bought him that, not me!!
My son has 3 Advent Calendars though… a traditional one (shaped like a train), a chocolate one my mum made him (out of baby socks) and an activity one I made him (24 envelopes with a new festive activity to do each day). He’s a tad spoilt this Christmas!!

Yes, my hubby loved this. I don’t think in a million years he expected a beer advent calendar. Although, now I think I’ve set myself up for this every year from now on!

Ooooh this has given me a titter this morning…. never mind the husband, I think I quite like the idea of having one… though I might adapt it to a red wine advent calendar… or a Bailey’s one!! Glasses of… not bottles of each day, obvs!
Ha ha, yes! You could easily customise this to suit your favourite tipple. So long as it comes in a case of 24 – otherwise, get creative with a box
