]]>^^^ Mini shopping basket, not HUGE snacks
Finding convenient, tasty snacks that are good to ‘grab and go’ can be difficult.
I like to keep snacks around me at all times… in my bag, in my car, in my desk drawer. I’m a grazer and could nibble away all day plus have two young kids that seemingly want constant feeding.
I’ve been a fan of Graze for years, having had their mail delivery service on many, many occasions. So when they announced a new in-store range, I confess, I was more than a little excited.
Graze’s new Good To Go range are perfectly portioned snacks in handy little package that are ideal when on-the-run. With tempting taste combinations and everything from sweet to savoury and spicy, the hardest part is deciding WHICH one to try?
They are (were!) all so delicious. My favourites being:
– Thai Sweet Chilli Dippers. Mini baked soy ‘crackers’ with a sweet chilli sauce and only 83 calories
– Chocolate Pretzel Dippers. I mean, who can resist little salted pretzels with a creamy chocolate sauce?!
Now, as someone who follows the Slimming World plan I was keen to find out how many syns are in these Graze packs as I’d love to keep a few of these on hand for those snack time emergencies! And the good news is, they all fall within the recommended 5 to 15 syns per day – however, some are clearly way higher than others! I’ve listed the syn values for the Graze packs below so you too can make wise choices next time you are in the supermarket!
Which ones would you like to try?

]]>Summer temperatures are finally upon us… and with that comes long, lazy dinners in the garden. You’ve gotta soak up the light, warm evenings whilst they last! Finding quick and nutritious dinners the whole family will enjoy can be challenging, and I don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen any longer than necessary. Bursting with flavour and nutrition, this masala and mango marinaded chicken with salad can be on the plate in under 20 minutes. #winner.
I’ve chosen to marinade chicken, but this would also work equally well with a firm white fish, like monkfish, as a tasty glaze to BBQ’d meat or delicious simply served as a dip.

Masala and Mango marinade
Naan bread
Naan bread can be a secret source of fats and calories, so pay attention to the package you buy. The ones I’ve used here are small (it’s all about moderation). If you are watching your calorie intake, why not switch the naan for a wholemeal tortilla or serve with a side of brown rice instead for a tasty alternative.

(The product isn’t yet listed on the SW app or online, but I used the syn calculator to determine the values (see link above). 100g is 7 syns. I used 50g, therefore only 3.5 syns shared between two people).
This masala and mango marinade transforms some simple chicken into a mid-week dinner winner.
A little spicy. Totally saucy.

]]>Looking at the array of empty mugs on my desk at the end of each day, I’ve realised that I’m drinking waaaay too much tea. Actually, it’s not the tea that’s the issue, it’s the 1 sugar in each cup that’s adding up. (And no, I don’t want to quit that 1 sugar nor switch to an artificial sweetener, it’s how I like my tea). Instead, I’m working to drink more water. Water is so good for you and has so many health benefits, but it’s not always exciting or easy to drink.
Whilst nothing will ever replace that first, delightful cup of tea in the morning, here are some tips I’ve picked up along the way, that you may find helpful if you are looking to drink more water too.
I get it. Water can be so boring. But rather than reaching for a sugar-laden supermarket squash, try adding some natural zing to your water. Watermelon chunks, slices of cucumber or slices of orange, lemon, and lime – can really liven up plain old water. Let it sit in the fridge for a few hours for the flavours to infuse.
If you’re missing the fizz of your regular soda drinks, try sparkling water instead of still.
An ice-cold glass of water may seem refreshing on a hot day, but ice-cold water is hard to drink in large quantities. Experiment with different water temperatures and see what you are able to easily drink most of. Room temp may not sound so good, but it’s surprisingly easy to drink. A mug of hot water infused with lemon or ginger makes a nice warming alternative to a cup of tea.
If you need a little help in drinking more water, check out Waterlogged (for iPhone) or Water Your Body for (iPhone and Android). If apps aren’t your thing, try setting a simple alarm on your phone to give you a gentle reminder it’s time to hit the (water) bottle.
Here in the UK, our water quality is exceptional, but if you’re not a fan of tap water there are some pretty fancy water filters on the market. Check out these BRITA Marella water filter jug’s which come in a fun range of colours to match every kitchen or office space !
If your water bottle has seen better days, invest in a new water bottle that you will actually want to use. These gorgeous fruit-infusing water bottles make drinking water easy, even on-the-go!
Have a plain, simple water bottle? That’s fine, too.

It may sound crazy, but simply changing the way you drink water can have a huge positive impact on the amount you consume. Keep a jug of water on the dinner table or close by and try drinking from a wine glass. For kids, pop a fun straw into their glass and have them drink up, too!
You don’t have to just drink your water. With summer just around the corner, why not make some fun ice lollies! Simply add sliced or chopped fruit to an ice lolly mould and top with water and freeze.
Top Tip: if you use cooled, boiled water your will get crystal clear lollies. Regular tap water will freeze cloudy.
As well as knowing that water helps you to lose weight, learning its other benefits will have you reaching for a glass… and another. Did you know that water can help with your complexion, it flushes toxins from the body, aids digestion and so much more. Drinking plenty of water before and during a night out can help prevent or minimise the dreaded hangover, not to mention the money savings over buying more expensive drink alternatives.
If you’re stuck at a desk all day or spend hours driving in the car, it’s easy to forget to drink your water. Sometimes, it can be just too much effort to stop and get a drink. Keep your water close to hand and you will find it so much easier to hit your water goals each day.

]]>Woah, where did April go?
I know I’m a little late in wrapping up the #obw10lbchallenge, but we took the bank holiday weekend off to go camping with the kids and ugh, it’s taken me a few days to get back on track. Not to mention how tired I have been. Seriously, how can fresh air leave you SO tired. I’m yawning here right now just thinking about it.
This 10 lb challenge has been a blast! Did you join in?
I’ve been posting regular(ish) status updates on Instagram, and it’s been so fun seeing you following along too! (Whaaaat! You’re not following? Oh you should… we have so much fun over there!)
This month, I made a real conscious effort to move more.
Walking the dog, weekend family walks, going swimming, camping… I even purchased new trainers and gym gear, although, they didn’t have everything in my size so a few items were on order. But woah, exercise + fresh air makes you so hungry! I need to plan for that and make sure I don’t come straight home and hit the cookie jar!
I have remained good at food and meal planning. It makes so much difference when I take the time to get organised, and simple things like overcooking in the evening, to ensure I have a quick and easy healthy lunch the next day. It really is the little things that make all the difference.
Overall, in the 10 lb challenge I lost 6 lbs.
Am I disappointed? Heck, no, I’m thrilled!
I lost the 6 lbs that had crept back on over the past couple of months and I am now happily back at my target weight. I aimed for 10 and got 6. If I’d muddled along with no focus or goal, I’d probably be the same – or even gained.
How have YOU been doing? How was your month? Leave a comment and share your #obw10lbchallenge results!

The post Get better prices on your online shopping with Beat My Price appeared first on One Busy WAHM.
]]>This post is written in collaboration with Beat My Price from Bespoke Offers. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
For months now, I’ve had my eye on the 50mm, f/1.4 Canon lens for my DSLR. As far as lenses go, it’s on the cheaper end of the scale, but at £323.99 is not cheap by any means. That’s a fair chunk of our family budget, and since I already own the 50mm, f1.8 which is a fraction of the cost, I told myself it would have to be on a great deal before I’d consider purchasing it.
Now Argos have this on sale for £289.99 (saving £35) but I wanted to see if I could get this price EVEN CHEAPER.
Beat My Price is the new personal shopping experience from Bespoke Offers that allows you to find your most-wanted items at a cheaper price.
Unlike other ‘discount sites’ which present you with THEIR offers, Beat My Price allows you to say what YOU want to buy! (Uh oh, just don’t tell my Hubby )
Firstly, find the EXACT item you’re looking for from a large online retailer (eg. Amazon, John Lewis, Argos etc). Copy the product URL and paste it into the Beat My Price bar. They’ll search for a better price and let you know how they’ve fared within 48 hours. Buy it! If Beat My Price is successful, you’ll have a limited time (usually 24 hours) to take up the exclusive price found for you. And, you are under NO obligation to buy anything!
You can have up to 5 live searches at any one time, meaning if you list 5 and one is resolved before the other 4, you can go ahead and request another search.
Beat My Price say they will get back to you within 48 hours – giving them a chance to search their database of select partners to bring you the best deal. In fact, it took just over 4 hours for me to get a response – with a great saving of almost £18.
Not after anything in particular?
Check out Bespoke Offers for great deals and discounts from big name brands to local favourites. With everything from electrical, travel, fashion, food, home & garden, wellness, and leisure – there are many great deals to be had.
Many of these make perfect gift solutions at great prices!
If you’re looking to save money, Beat My Price is a great tool.
Saving you time and hassle from online research, Beat My Price will do all the hard work for you. Since it can also take up to 48 hours for their best prices to be found, it also stops you from making those rash, impulse purchases.
With savings typically up to 10 per cent (sometimes more) the savings may not be huge, but they are savings nonetheless. They all add up!
Hmmm… I’m suddenly getting the urge for a spa day and afternoon tea. Who’s in?!
