Losing Weight Got #ExtraEasy With Slimming World

I have set a goal to take care of myself in 2014. One of those ways, is to lose weight. 50lbs of weight, to be precise.

Losing weight this year is a big deal for me.

I desperately want to look and feel better, and so, on 3rd January, I signed up to my local Slimming World class.

And as I quickly discovered, Slimming World’s Extra Easy plan is, well… extra easy!

In the past, one of my biggest challenges with losing weight was finding foods the whole family can enjoy. I tell you, the relief was huge when I discovered all the foods you can enjoy. Proper meals with proper food. Check out the steak and chips above!

And as a girl who loves her daily glass of wine, I love the daily Syns allowance to spend on treats… glass of wine, nibble of chocolate or another favourite indulgence.

Slimming World group members also get automatic free access to their members’ website, Lifeline Online, which features hundreds of delicious recipes, tips and inspiration. There’s also a free phone app which has proved invaluable at the supermarket for checking Syn values. (I cannot believe just how much hidden sugar is in some so-called health foods. Yikes!). 

 

10 days in and I’m feeling very confident and motivated to lose weight in 2014. Our group has an awesome Consultant (Hi Susie! :) ) and I’m really excited about this journey. Oh, and after my first weigh-in, I’m already 3lbs down. Yay! If you’ve been considering starting your own weight loss journey this year, Slimming World would be a great way to start!

  2. Well I started off pretty good this year and then over the past week some really bad family stuff happened and I’m worrying and eating. I wish I was the kind of person who couldn’t eat when they were worried. Sigh. Good luck to you!!!

  3. I SERIOUSLY want to see the recipe for Steak and Bearnaise with chips! The last time I had that was at The Hillside, my absolute favorite pub in Crawley . . . when I lived in the UK.

  5. Steak and chips…wine…I just knew this had to be a British weight loss programme, haha! Looks mouth-watering. I firmly believe that a moderate, well-rounded diet is the key to maintaining progress long-term for people like me. If I said “I’m never drinking wine or eating chips again”, that diet would never last, so I think it’s great to instead think about portions, your diet as a whole, and making room for reasonable treats and such. You’re doing great already!

  11. Congrats on your fantastic start and I wish you the bet of luck on your journey! I have definitely found the best luck in dieting when I don’t deprive myself but instead learn to eat smaller portions of the less than great for me stuff.
